Privacy policy
Item Finder is an independent utility that turns product article numbers into a temporary visual checklist. You can use the current version without creating an account.
Information processed
- Article numbers, quantities, provider and country are sent to the Item Finder service when you start a lookup.
- The service uses a random signed device identifier to keep a lookup private to that installation. It does not contain your name, email address or product list.
- Cloudflare may provide a country code derived from the request so the app can suggest a provider market. Item Finder does not request precise GPS location.
- Standard network information may be processed by Cloudflare as the hosting provider when requests are delivered.
Temporary processing
Lookup jobs and their results are kept only long enough to operate the queue and return results. Completed job data expires after approximately 15 minutes. Item Finder does not maintain a central library of your product lists or downloaded product images.
Data stored on your device
If you choose Save offline, the checklist, checked state and downloaded images are stored locally on your device until you delete an individual list or use Clear all local downloaded data in Settings. Offline data is not uploaded by the save feature.
Camera and photos
Barcode scanning and selected photos are processed on your device. Item Finder does not upload camera frames or selected photos.
Accounts, advertising and sales
The current version has no user accounts, paid features or third-party advertising. Item Finder does not sell personal information.
Product providers
When a lookup runs, the service requests public product information from the selected provider. Provider websites receive the service request needed to resolve the article number. Their own privacy terms may apply to those requests and to links you choose to open.
Your choices
You can cancel an active lookup, delete saved lists and clear all locally downloaded data from Settings. Removing the app also removes its local app data according to your device platform.
